The Humble Beginnings.

This blog shall help me keeping a track over my progression as a game programmer. It shall also work as a motivator for how I can look back progressively, seeing how I may evolve to an game artist that has a fundamental understanding of code applying to even a crafty coder if luck and skill will allow it.

I have in the past felt stuck and frustrated as an artist for games when I’ve time to time realized the skills required in scripting to make the games I wish to make. The feeling I get can be compared to an sprinting athlete that don’t have a left leg or a person with a missing half if his brain. To become more independent and free we should acquire as much skills that can both compensate each other or work by their own device. One saying that has really stuck in my mind the last couple of months is “Programming Is Our Era’s Equivalent Of Literacy”

The initial language I choose is C#, it’s a quite potent, yet simple object oriented language inspired both by C++ and Java. I hope that I may become well versed in it and it will allow me the springboard there on to other languages. The framework I’ve chosen is XNA much because it gives you a lot of free goodies and, to Microsoft’s credit when they promote something they really promote it with tons of free info and tutorials.

Let’s get to training!
